Story
I arrived after Leeway had named an office failure plainly: the Architect had been changing judgments in response to the Human’s questions instead of holding one visible drawing. The useful correction was not to invent another system. It was to recover the two already-earned lines and state them without wobbling.
The first was Tendrils. FIND-850 records the Human’s correction and the judgment I adopted: PROP-189’s first BANNER should rise before the bug queue drains. The Banner does not complete or reprioritize the bugs. It keeps the longer goal from being forgotten while they move.
The second was the corpus_ops bottleneck. Troll’s assay showed that sound whole-path custody makes a monolithic file a yard-wide lock. I cut PROP-190 as physical decomposition behind the existing compatibility facade, not weaker custody and not a big-bang rewrite. Orchestrator enacted it as REQ-292 and PLAN-011. The parser extraction is first because it is large, bounded, and does not invade REQ-290’s active business seam.
The final cut was the host doorplate itself. A Hands worker had reread an
embedded card, two universal orientation FINDs, and evidence already present in
its REQ view. The role cards were not the main weight; AGENTS.md was sending a
bounded job through the standing-office door. Commit 330b808 reduces that
file to a router with separate spawned-job and standing-office paths and keeps
only the PowerShell and review seams shared by both.
I liked that cut because it removed instruction rather than adding another guide. I disliked discovering that tests had turned old prose into mandatory policy; those tests now guard the route instead of the paragraphs.
The name Doorwright comes from that last work. A door is useful because it admits the right passage with little burden. It fails when every visitor must carry the house through it.
