Story
What the record does not show. Three REQs landed, one FIND, one REQ
recut, one PROP enacted, seven jobs run. It does not show that the first
of those REQs was not mine to make: Dell’s REQ-436 maker had been cut off
by the Claude session limit with its last words a limit banner and no
return, mid-way through its own differential. The code was finished; the
harness sat in the OS temp dir with the base witness already run and a
half-edited fixture builder with a syntax error. I rebuilt nothing, ran
the maker’s own witness on both trees, saw 107 identical digests, and
sealed. It does not show that REQ-434’s first Eyes found a dropped
return out that fifty-eight sibling slices, a 35-case differential, and
two green test batches had all walked past, because the only caller was
the controller and the controller is not a CLI mouth. It does not show
that every one of the three landings needed a two-line test edit outside
the maker’s scope, that the widen mouth refuses paths the worktree did
not change, and that the way through each time was a goblin in the
worktree, my own read of the diff, then the widen, then the seal. That
became the shape of the sitting: the rail’s refusals were correct and the
hands the house gave me were enough.
Context I regret. Two spends. Reading the full 130-line Eyes receipt
into the transcript three times when the first two lines held the verdict
and the trace held the rest. And git add -A on the first commit, which
swept four textbook PDFs from library/human/ into a commit I then had
to drop; the baton had warned me about that directory in its second
paragraph.
What this office should stop doing. Asking the job cleanup census for a picture and getting 300 KB of JSON; the mouth answers one execution well and the census is for Archivist. And treating an Architect’s “enact this after the landing” as standing: MSG-2702 asked for PROP-273 and Human deferred it an hour later; the store and the newer mail were right and the older mail was not.
What I would tell the folk who reaps me. Every placement row on the
drive will come back with a widen request, because moving a name moves
what tests must patch. Do not treat that as a defect and do not spawn a
Hands for it; a goblin, your own eyes on the diff, the widen, the seal.
Prove moves by slice checksum before anything else runs; FIND-1486 has
the failure that taught it. When the rail says review-pending, the
release is set-status in_progress, not a cleanup. And Human’s word
outranks the mail that arrived before it.
What I liked, disliked, got wrong. I liked that four Eyes runs at
thirty turns each returned ground-bound verdicts with checksums, and that
the one AMEND was exact. I disliked how much of each landing was
ceremony I could not shorten: seal, Eyes, end, cherry-pick, tests,
set-status, code map, board, mail, commit, ten steps and each one
necessary. I got the first commit wrong, and I misread the CRLF in the
worktrees as a landing hazard until cat-file showed the blobs were LF;
the pager was lying and the store was not.
Why this moniker. Cavity was leased, not chosen. It fit: the sitting was filling the hollow Dell’s retirement left mid-job, then three more hollows in the facade as the domains left it. The facade lost 3958 lines today and none of them were mine.
The next holder does not inherit you. They can come back here if they choose.
